CAS makes it possible to get all the benefits of CAD generated jobs while minimizing the risks. With the use of specialized hardware and our own custom software, this quality CAD data can be quickly and economically produced from your 1:1 original artwork. The costs and long lead times associated with scanning are significantly reduced by using our enhanced methods.
There are two basic levels of scanning:
1.) Full clean up:
Board is re-digitized to CAD quality. All layers perfectly register and
are uniform in size features. Extensive drc's are performed to detect possible
manufacturing problems. Software and visual comparsions are done to the
original artwork against the new digital data. This is usually better than
new.
2.) Archive/partial:
Artwork is scanned, desewed, aligned and then vectorized.
3.) Paper Drawings/Documents:
Large format drawings can be scanned and then cleaned to either level one
or two as above.
Output is generally in gerber format 274x, but we can also provide ODB++, Orbotech, Barco, Lavenir, DXF, etc-etc-etc.

FAQ's:
Do we need to ship all the artwork to you for a quote?
No. Usually a fax of the board and the number of films to be scanned is
all we need to give a fast accurate quote.
We don't have time on these quick turn boards to wait for scanning. What
is your turn around?
Typical turn around is 2-3 working days after receipt of artwork. Next day
delivery is available for a slight up charge. Data can be sent via modem,
email, ftp, mail, etc.
We use state of the art front ends, will your data work?
So do we. We have Orbotech, and Valor front ends along with Lavenir, AutoCAD
and CAM350.
What does CAS do to ensure data integrity?
After digitizing, verification of the database is implemented by completing
several design rule checks. We also perform visual inspections between your
original artwork and our plotted data.
